Our Guitars

Paul:
I use a Selmer-style 503D D-Hole (grande bouche) style guitar, by Loughborough-based luthier, Dave Hodson. The guitar is fitted with an under-bridge pickup, and standard jack.
I prefer to use a mic, but in situations where I have to plug direct, I feed the output through a Boss equaliser pedal, to eliminate some high-frequency peaks, and where possible, compliment this with a mic to give out a more genuine acoustic tone.

Roy:
I use a Selmer Macaferri-style Oval-hole (petite bouche) style guitar, crafted by Lincolnshire-based Luthier, John Le Voi. The Le Voi model is also fitted with an under-bridge pickup, and standard jack. I like to feed direct, using the pickup, and sometimes feed the output through a Boss equaliser pedal, as Paul does, to give a balanced tone and range.
